What you’ll do

Your experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications will provide expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing. 

Day-to-day, you’ll: 

  • Write well designed, testable, efficient and reusable object-oriented code, undergoing thorough testing, before submitting it for code-review including unit and integration testing 

  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications

  • Prepare and produce releases of software components

  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review  

Requirements

You’ll be technically proficient, with at least 3 years of proven experience in managing IT projects plus a BSC in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field. Ideally having developed and maintained complex and scalable Java web applications within an Agile environment, you’ll be an independent self-starter, adept at research, analysis, and decision making.   

In terms of technologies and programmes, you’ll have a good knowledge of: 

  • Java Core, Spring, SQL, ORM, JUnit  

  • OOP, SOLID principles

  • RESTful services, Web services

You’ll also have experience of:  

  • GIT 

  • Bitbucket/GitHub 

  • Bamboo/Jenkins 

  • Jira 

  • Confluence 

  • Maven/Gradle

Understanding Spring Boot; AWS or other cloud providers; Docker; and/or NoSQL databases would be an advantage.  

Advanced written and spoken English communication skills are a must.
